Yoga as Medicine
Yoga is much more than a stretching class. Yoga
offers value to your whole body simultaneously. Yoga has repeatedly
been able to positively affect several illnesses ranging from Heart
Disease, Cancer, Insomnia, High Blood Pressure,
Obesity, Mental Illness, Headaches, Asthma, and Menstrual Problems.
With practice, yoga strengthens and calms the nervous system,
increases blood flow to internal organs and cells, and creates an
opportunity for mental clearing and stress relief. An out of balance
stress response system has been linked to an assortment of health
issues, thereby adding an additional level of importance to
improving one's stress levels.
Yoga is for Everyone
Yoga is done by a wide range of people: from
children to geriatrics, people in wheelchairs to marathon runners.
Yoga is practiced by people of many beliefs, denominations, social
and economical backgrounds. Yoga lends itself and is easily adapted
to one's life.
