What Can I Expect on My First Appointment?

Whew! We’ve jumped through all the hoops, you’ve got your appointment set up and all you need to do is come to it. What should you expect? Don’t worry we don’t bite but here are some tips that will make the whole process even easier!

1) Finish filling out your New Patient Intake Paperwork. In addition to the intake paperwork please make sure that you have your prescription, insurance card, and a payment method for your co-pay.

2) Check in at the front desk, we will collect your co-pay and the New Patient Intake Paperwork. We will also take a copy of your insurance card which will be kept with your records.

3) The first part of your appointment is an evaluation with the therapist. During the evaluation you will discuss your medical history and the therapist will spend some time palpating to search for tissue restrictions and joint dysfunction. This will take up to 30 minutes of your hour appointment, the rest of the time will be spent in treatment. At the end of your appointment the therapist will come up with a treatment plan and home exercise program if needed.

4) Come back to the front desk, we’ll scan your home exercises into your chart and print off a list of your future appointments. If in the course of your treatment you have a change of address, contact information or insurance please notify us as soon as possible.
